Opportunities to Participate in In-Store Merchandising, Display and Dispensing Trials

Closing date: 16/9/2008

WRAP wishes to invite partners within the retail sector, and their supply chain, to establish in-store trials that demonstrate packaging and/or product waste reduction through the use of innovative merchandising, display and dispensing systems, as well as product reformulations.

WRAP is looking for partnership projects which will establish and evaluate large scale, operational trials that reduce waste in England, Wales, and Scotland within either of the following sectors:

  • Grocery (food and drink) sector
  • Home Improvement sector (HI), or
  • Household and Personal Care (HPC) sector.

In the grocery and HPC sector, trials within the following product categories will be particularly welcomed: fresh; chilled; frozen; ambient; and laundry categories.  Within the home improvement sector, trials in the following product categories will be particularly welcomed: shelving; flooring and tiling; hand tools; non?decorative and decorative consumables.

Support is available for projects that offer radical improvements in resource efficiency that without a financial contribution from WRAP are beyond commercial investment criteria.  Up to a maximum of 50% of costs are eligible for funding; the remaining project costs should be invested by project partners.  Please see the tender document for the level of funding available.

WRAP will make time available to discuss potential applications with prospective tenderers.  Surgery days may be held during the open tender period, in England, Scotland and Wales, if this is beneficial.  Please contact nikki.sully@wrap.org.uk to arrange a meeting.  If you are looking for a project partner, but do not have an existing relationship, WRAP can also support this process.  Please refer to the tender document for further information.

Closing date for submissions 12.30pm 16th September 2008
