WRAP Backs Food Industry Conference on Waste Reduction

12 October 2007

WRAP (Waste & Resources Action Programme) is backing a conference to be held on 6 and 7 November that will bring together key players in the food industry as part of a drive to tackle the UK’s food waste problems.

The Berr Conference Centre in London is playing host to delegates drawn from the food manufacturing and retail sectors, plus local authorities and government. Over two days, delegates will be able to access the latest thinking on food production, processing, distribution, retail, consumption and resource recovery.

Event partners WRAP, the Resource Recovery Forum, the Resource Efficiency KTN, the Food Processing KTN and consultants Brook Lyndhurst, have joined forces to increase understanding of waste issues across the food sector. They have put together a programme which will share best practice and policy initiatives, explore upstream challenges and solutions and investigate downstream issues via the views, attitudes and behaviour of consumers.

More information and delegate registration details can be found at www.resourcesnotwaste.org or by phoning 01756 709 808.
