Business Plan 2011-15

Business Plan 2011-15

Our new Business Plan 2011-15 promotes working in partnership towards a world without waste.

More and more our focus is now on preventing waste being created in the first place. If waste is unavoidable, then our expertise can help make sure the material is recycled to maximum value, or used to create energy.

Our guiding principles continue to be a focus getting good value for money, working in partnership and supporting the work of others.

Our goals are:

  • 7 million tonnes less carbon dioxide equivalent emitted a year.
  • 3 million tonnes less biodegradable waste going to landfill a year.
  • £1.9billion saved by consumers, businesses and the public sector a year.
  • £130million growth in the resource management sector a year.
  • 3 million tonnes less primary resources used a year.
  • 2 million tonnes less waste produced a year.

Measuring the impact of our Business Plan

Evaluating the impact of our work is important. It helps us account to our funders and show we have spent money wisely. And as a publicly-funded organisation it is crucial that we are honest about our impacts. Further details on how we measure our impact is available here.

We support all the UK Governments and our Delivery Plans for England, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales reflect the individual priorities of our funders.
