LCA Symposium: Making the most of LCA thinking.
On Thursday 23 November 2006, WRAP hosted a symposium for colleagues interested in the use and application of life cycle analysis (LCA).
The delegates included UK and international policy makers, regulators, local authorities, waste management and reprocessing companies, LCA practitioners, academics and waste and resource efficiency consultants.
Opening with a keynote speech from Ben Bradshaw MP, Minister of State at Defra, the day covered three main issues:
- The findings of WRAP's international review of life cycle analyses, 'Environmental benefits of recycling';
- The pros and cons of life cycle analysis as a technique; and
- The use of LCA studies as a decision support tool to inform policy making.
The agenda and the six speakers' presentations can be downloaded from this page.
WRAP would like to express our thanks to each of the speakers for agreeing to their presentations being placed on our website.
