Summary:

The purpose of this job is to drive resource minimisation within the retail supply chain, particularly in food and drink. The post holder will be responsible for working with businesses to help deliver the team’s Supply Chain targets on waste prevention, packaging and water minimisation. As part of this role the post holder will manage contractors delivering waste, packaging and water minimisation projects.

Job description

We are seeking a Manufacturing Process Manager who will be based in Scotlandand support WRAP’s retail team activity across the UK. The Retail Team focuses on significantly increasing the efficient use of resources within the retail sector.

The Manufacturing Process Manager will drive resource minimisation within the retail supply chain, particularly in food and drink. The post holder will be responsible for working with businesses to help deliver the Retail Team’s Supply Chain targets on waste prevention and water minimisation. As part of this role he or she will manage contractors delivering resource minimisation projects.

The successful applicant will have experience within, or closely associated with the food and drink manufacturing or related sectors and will be educated to degree level or equivalent in a relevant discipline.

Key Requirements and Personal Profile

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Essential:

  • Educated to degree level or equivalent in a relevant discipline· Experience within, or closely with, the food and drink manufacturing or related sectors
  • Proven ability to apply lean manufacturing techniques with a focus on food and drink processing to reduce product loss and reduce water use.
  • Proven ability to engage and influence stakeholders to deliver outcome based targets

Desirable:

  • Good experience and understanding of packaging materials and machinery
  • Demonstrable evidence of experience within project management.
  • Experience in developing the business case for change based upon commercial and environmental considerations.

  • A well developed understanding of businessdrivers within the food industry, packaging industry and the retail sector.
  • Ability to quantify the commercial and environmental benefits to build the case forchange.
