Real Nappies
The Real Nappy Campaign was supported by WRAP from the summer of 2003 till March 2007.
During this time, the programme:
- supported four Real Nappy Weeks;
- funded real nappy projects in England and Scotland;
- created a suite of resources to support real nappy networks;
- published guides for nurseries and maternity wards on the use of real nappies;
- worked with SWAG (Scottish Waste Awareness Group) to create a resource pack for healthcare professionals in Scotland to promote the use of real nappies; and
- directly diverted 26,000 tonnes of disposable nappies from landfill.
All the publications and resources created by the Real Nappy Campaign are now available on the Campaign’s website, which also has the Nappy Finder tool. Parents can search for details of local nappy retailers, agents and networks.
The Real Nappy Helpline (0845 850 0606) is continuing.
