A report showing the results of the first UK study into the carbon impact of bottling wine in the UK in glass and PET bottles.

WRAP commissioned a study to establish the impact of lightweighting and increasing recycled content on the carbon impact of 75cl glass and PET wine bottles.

The research findings clearly demonstrate the significant reductions in CO2 emissions that can be made from lightweighting and increased recycled content. This information may help packaging specifiers make an informed choice on material selection and contribute towards the choice of options which meets the consumers’ expectations, product storage, shelf life requirements and the supply chains requirements.
