Third Sector support
Three strands of tailored support are available:
Organisation development
We help to develop third sector organisations through the provision of technical, marketing, strategic or other support to directly increase capacity.
Our support comprises dedicated case management combined, in selected cases, with funded independent specialist support or interim management assistance. Examples of possible support include:
- assistance with the development of business plans;
- implementing improvements to internal operations, policies and procedures;
- development and roll-out of sales and marketing strategies; and improving tendering and negotiation skills in order to win contracts.
The emphasis will be on practical help, troubleshooting and long term solutions.
Network development
We’re working to improve the coordination of activities in third sector organisations, to broker collaborations and partnerships between them and facilitate practical skill and knowledge sharing.
We will enable social entrepreneurs to share experiences and benefit from others’ experiences through a programme of learning and peer support - creating mentoring, shadowing and job swap opportunities where possible.
Market development
We encourage links with commercial companies and the public sector to identify ways in which third sector organisations can be integrated into their supply chains.
Several sectors of the economy do not currently contract with third sector organisations, and we will encourage alliances and provide brokerage support to help identify and pursue suitable partners and opportunities.
Training and knowledge sharing across common interest themes may also be available.
