Zero waste events: a 2020 vision

You are invited to join Lord de Mauley, Minister for Resource Management, and fellow event industry colleagues at the launch of the event industry roadmap: Zero waste events: a 20:20 vision

Date:  Tuesday 5 March 2013 (full day)
Location: Lord’s Cricket Ground, London (www.lords.org).

Developed in close conjunction with the industry, the roadmap aims to encourage the sector to take the first steps towards zero waste to landfill at all events, no matter what their size or nature. This launch event will feature not only the roadmap, but also offer practical examples of how to achieve improvement, based on learning from a range of events and on the work undertaken to support the delivery of the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games. Speakers include McDonalds, LOCOG and SITA.

There will be opportunity to hear from leading industry players and to take part in round table updates on a range of topics. There will also be opportunities to network with events industry colleagues, share best practice and make new contacts.

Join us to hear how zero waste to landfill can benefit your events. Register for this FREE event NOW. All enquiries should be sent to Sue Baughan.

The roadmap has been developed as part of the EPOW programme and provides a series of steps that all in the industry can adopt to reach the target of sustainable events, leading ultimately to the goal of zero waste to landfill events in England, NI, Scotland and Wales. EPOW, The European Pathway to Zero Waste is a partnership between the Environment Agency and WRAP aimed at demonstrating zero waste to landfill in south east England.  It is a LIFE+ funded programme.
