First Policy Director for WRAP
Ray Georgeson is currently Executive Director of Waste Watch, the national charity which promotes practical action on reducing, reusing and recycling waste. Ray has had active involvement in recycling and the community waste sector for almost twenty years, and has already worked closely with DETR and DTI on the development of the original proposal to establish WRAP which was included in the Waste Strategy.
Ray will take up his new full time role in the New Year.
Speaking at the official launch of WRAP today, Chief Executive
Jennie Price said:
"Ray will make an excellent policy director and I am delighted that he has decided to accept this appointment. His extensive knowledge and understanding both of the waste management industry and of the many community groups, researchers and academics engaged in promoting more sustainable waste management will be invaluable to WRAP."
Ray Georgeson said:
"Although I will miss Waste Watch very much, I am tremendously excited at the prospect of working for WRAP, and the potential it has to make a major difference to the way we manage waste in the UK. I look forward to working with the many stakeholders WRAP will need to engage."
