    Through a joint municipal waste strategy, Severn Waste Services operates waste management facilities on behalf of seven local authority areas in Herefordshire and Worcestershire. With all households moving to co-mingled alternate weekly collections of dry recyclables, a new facility is being planned to service both counties.

    Lichfield stands out from the crowd on plastic bottle recycling - Plastic Bottle Collection Case Study
    Lichfield District Council operates a weekly kerbside box collection of plastic bottles. Overall in 2004/5, a total of 270 tonnes of plastic bottles were collected from all areas of the district. This is equivalent to 6.91kg per household per year, almost 2kg above the UK average performance.

    Separate bottle collection expands kerbside scheme - Vale Royal - Plastic Bottle Collection Case Study
    The addition of a separate plastic bottle collection to Vale Royal Borough Council kerbside recycling scheme is reported to have increased collection volumes of other dry recyclables. Provisional figures indicate collection levels of 11kg/hh/year.
