    Composting

    White Moss Open Day 25/02/05. Composting machinery.WRAP supported White Moss Horticulture in Liverpool with £570,000 of capital support to turn garden waste into composted material. In a pioneering move for the UK horticulture sector, the project has set the trend towards co-location of recycling facilities at the same site as raw material production. This will reduce transport costs and ensure that compost made from garden waste becomes a highly competitive ingredient for growing media.

    Wood

    A capital grant from WRAP was awarded to G.I. Hadfield & Son Ltd to increase wood recycling in the region and develop alternative high value markets such as quality animal bedding . The grant initiated construction of an additional processing facility and the purchase of associated equipment. video case study

    Equipment leasing

    Compost shredderBlackpool based firm Jap Aggregates have had support from WRAP through the eQuip scheme. The company needed assistance to lease a new shredder to expand their existing composting operations, so eQuip helped them to secure a better lease deal allowing them to get the equipment they needed. more

    Plastics

    Major investment in the UK’s plastics reprocessing infrastructure by WRAP has dramatically increased the capacity for recycling post-consumer plastic bottles in the NW. WRAP awarded just over £1m to JFC Plastics based in St Helens to develop a new reprocessing facility, capable of recycling 20,000 tonnes of bottles a year at full capacity. more

    A line of small skips with segregated site waste - wood and plasterboard2G Environmental is a business in the NW which uses overseas technology to improve the processing of construction wastes on site. WRAP’s Business Support Services are supporting 2GE to launch is range of on-site services to the UK. more
