Segregated plasterboard collections at Household Waste Recycling Centres
The scheme effectively demonstrated that the implementation and management of a plasterboard collection scheme at a HWRC does not require significant resourcing requirements or changes to site practices. In certain circumstances, plasterboard recycling collections were shown to be cheaper than alternative methods of disposal and it is anticipated that as landfill tax increases, plasterboard recycling at HWRCs will become more significantly commercially viable.
