Manufacturing Scoping Study
WRAP recently completed a study of the UK manufacturing sector. The aim of the study was to identify opportunities where WRAP might significantly increase the quantity of recycled materials used in manufacturing.
The study was in two parts:
- a broad analysis of the UK manufacturing sector to identify potential opportunity sectors and projects
- a more thorough analysis of potential opportunities to identify those most suitable for WRAP’s involvement to help stimulate development.
The work identified two areas where WRAP may help deliver a significant impact in recycling practices: the potential market for recovery and re-use of fibre from Medium Density Fibreboard (MDF) and a potential to significantly increase the closed-loop recycling of PVC flooring. WRAP has launched tenders in these areas to identify and deliver appropriate projects.
