As you will be aware the UK is seeing significant growth in the use and manufacturing capacity for recycled plastics intended to come into contact with food. There are now EU regulations in position that place obligations on recycling plastics businesses across the European Union where their products will be used in contact with foodstuffs. The new Regulations will have implications for the UK business, for example it will require the recycling process to be approved and operators to be regularly audited.
To enable wider and fuller understanding of these regulations WRAP is organising a round table session with Richard Sinclair who heads the Food Contact Materials Policy and Legislation Team at the Food Standards Agency. Richard led the UK’s negotiations on the EU proposals and as such is ideally placed to explain what the new Regulations will mean to businesses in the UK.
Representatives from the food and packaging industry, as well as key retailers, will attend to enable you to discuss issues and share ideas on how to approach the practicalities of complying with this new legislation.
This event is by invitation only so please book early for a free ticket if you would like to join us.
