Collections and recycling advice
The advisory service is fully funded and support is customised to the specific needs of individual local authorities. If you think you can benefit from our support please complete an application form. We will follow up applications with discussions to identify the appropriate types of support.
Feedback from authorities has been extremely positive on the quality of service and advice received. These are some of the areas in which support and advice is provided:
- Procurement of collection services
- Improving the efficiency of existing collection schemes
- Options appraisals
- Variations to services
- Collecting new materials such as food waste
We have to target our resources to best effect. Our priorities are:
Increasing recycling - to work with local authorities who are looking to increase their recycling rates and those who are planning or considering changes to their waste and recycling services.
Food waste collection - we particularly want to work with authorities who are planning or considering a food waste collection service.
Waste prevention - providing support to partnerships (or areas) with a significant population that can demonstrate they are committed to prioritising waste prevention and reducing food waste.
