This report describes the results of a telephone survey of more than 1500 people living in 12 local authorities in England, Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland. The research was conducted in September and October 2005.

Main results
- over 9 out of 10 people (92%) said they would be encouraged to recycle their batteries if they were collected from their home
- 88% of people thought it would help if they had a special container; in which to store used batteries
- 85% said they would be encouraged to recycle if they knew where to take unwanted batteries.
