WRAP's schools programme aims to improve and sustain the recycling of school waste.
WRAP provides the following resources for local authorities and schools to support this aim:
For local authorities:
- Recycling in schools training course
This course is aimed at individuals with responsibility for developing and, or delivering recycling collections to schools. It encourages a practical approach to planning, implementing and maintaining recycling schemes in schools that will contribute to the achievement of local authority strategic recycling aims. - Local authority support
WRAP also offers local authorities technical and communications advice and support on recycling services for schools.
For schools:
- Recycle Now Action Pack for schools
The action pack provides information and advice for primary and secondary schools to guide them through the process of setting up and maintaining effective recycling schemes. It also includes activities to engage pupils, case studies to share schools' experiences of recycling and links to teaching resources which schools can access. - Recycle Now marketing materials for schools
A range of materials have been developed to support recycling schemes at schools, including a range of awareness posters designed to engage primary school pupils, secondary schools pupils and school staff, and recycling point signage for use inside the school as well as outdoors.
