Market Development Capital Grant Programme for Priority Resource Streams in Scotland

Closing date: 31st March 2015 - Applications for the current financial year must be received by 30th September 2013.

File 9553Zero Waste Scotland is offering an exciting and significant funding package to provide support to recycling organisations in both the private sector and third sector as well as local authorities in Scotland to establish additional capacity for new or existing processes capable of:

Recycling additional tonnages of specified dry recyclates in Scotland and allowing for onward reprocessing in Scotland or the UK, thereby increasing diversion from landfill or export;

and/or;

  • Demonstrably improving the quality of existing and /or additional tonnage of specified dry recyclates, thereby adding value in Scotland and, in turn, rendering otherwise low quality material suitable for recycling and onward reprocessing in Scotland or the UK, rather than it being exported or sent to landfill.

A budget of £1.5M is available, operating on a rolling basis in line with the De Minimis (EC) Regulation No. 1998/2006.  A maximum of £169,000, and not exceeding 50% of the total eligible costs, will be available to each successful applicant. This will predominantly be for capital items, however some revenue costs may be funded provided they are project related.  Awards will be based on proposals that provide value for money. The project spend must be completed and all projects commissioned by 31 March 2015.

Early applications to the Fund are strongly recommended for funding in this financial year as the funding is finite and available on a first come, first served basis. Applications are being accepted now, so for further details, please refer to our guidance document which you will be able to download by registering your details below. This document sets out the full scope and criteria of the programme.
