Organics recycling survey 2010

A study of the UK organics recycling industry in 2010

A report on the structure of the UK organics processing/recycling sector and the markets for its outputs

WRAP’s comprehensive market analysis of the UK organics recycling industry for the calendar year 2010 shows that anaerobic digestion is driving growth. The number of permitted AD sites saw the total input of more than one million tonnes of organic waste processed out of a total for the organics recycling sector of 8.5m tonnes.

This report is the latest in a series of annual projects that originated with the former Composting Association members’ survey.

Since 2006 this analysis has been commissioned through WRAP, working in partnership with the growing number of industry organisations in the organics recycling sector. This year’s study has been led by a partnership consisting of WRAP, the Anaerobic Digestion and Biogas Association (ADBA), the Association for Organics Recycling (AfOR), the Renewable Energy Association (REA) and the Environmental Services Association (ESA).
