Funding for short term skilled personnel to assist in project - Case studies

Here is an example of how we can help provide trained personnel to assist with a project

ClacksFirst & Alloa Town Centre

ClacksFirst and Alloa Town Centre BIDS are trialling a free recycling service for their 500 levy payers in partnership with Alloa Community Enterprises. Zero Waste Scotland is supporting the project through the provision of funds to employ a project officer for a 6 month period. The project officer will be responsible for running the trial and maximising the number of businesses participating to ensure the service can continue successfully beyond the trial period. Service development will be supported by findings from a survey which is currently being undertaken with the levy payers to understand their needs, with support from Zero Waste Scotland. The key aim of the participating BIDS is to secure a long term cost-effective recycling service for their members.

Moffat Can

Moffat Can are engaging with the local businesses to understand the waste and recycling needs of businesses within the town with a view to offering a free service to 30-40 businesses over a 3 month period. Zero Waste Scotland is supporting the project through the provision of funds to employ a project officer for six months.  The project officer will be responsible for undertaking a survey of the local businesses and securing participants for the trial. MoffatCan are aiming to use the trial to develop a business case for rolling out a cost-effective service for local businesses in Moffat and surrounding towns.
