Freshpak: Food Waste Reduction Roadmap case studies

Freshpak is one of Britain’s leading chilled food manufacturers. Based in Barnsley, South Yorkshire, the company makes a huge range of sandwich fillings, dips, vegetable and fish pates, mayonnaise and egg products. 

'In 2016, Freshpak reduced its overall waste generation by 20% on the previous year. We reviewed practices across egg processing, product preparation and product retail. This exercise resulted in a number of efficiency initiatives to deliver significant reductions in wastage. Collectively, these initiatives have saved over £200,000 in raw material and production costs alone.'

In 2020, Freshpak made a commitment to reduce food waste across all operations by 50% by 2030.
