Drinks resource map information and guidance

The objective of this project was to develop a series of resource maps for twelve key product groups within the UK drinks sector, detailing product and packaging waste, and water consumption and losses. 

The aim is to use these maps to complement earlier work undertaken by WRAP, and to bridge the knowledge gap highlighted in the WRAP report Waste arisings in the supply of food and drink to UK households

The study found that very little waste is sent to landfill and many alternative waste management options have been developed and are being used. There are savings opportunities identified within the study through waste prevention measures.

The Drinks resource map set of reports consists of:

  • A Summary and Overview document;
  • Product group specific information; and
  • Good practice guidance documents.
