Construction Commitments - halving waste to landfill
The Strategy for Sustainable Construction, launched by Government and the Strategic Forum for Construction in June 2008, sets a target for the construction industry to halve construction, demolition and excavation waste going to landfill by 2012. - In support, WRAP has developed a framework for voluntary action to achieve this target across the construction sector and its clients.
- Adopting this framework is a public demonstration that your organisation is:
- playing its part to support the construction sector's drive to halve waste to landfill;
- improving its environmental performance; and
- reducing its carbon footprint.
- WRAP will formally launch this framework in the Autumn.
