Eligibility

Details of the eligibility criteria for WRAP Business Support are listed below:

Size of Business

  • To receive support from the majority of our services you must be a Small or Medium sized Enterprise (SME). However, support through eQuip and Capital Grant Funding is also available to larger companies.
  • The company must be less then 25% owned by one enterprise (or jointly by several enterprises) falling outside the definition of an SME.

The definition of an SME is a business with less than 250 employees and either a turnover total less than £37.06 million or balance sheet total (net worth) of less than £31.87 million.

Business Activity

  • You must be a reprocessing business operating in (or a start-up business planning to operate in) the UK recycling sector and recycling one or more of the following materials: aggregates; glass; plastics; organics; paper; wood; tyres; plasterboard and batteries.
  • The waste that you are recycling must be mainly derived from the UK's municipal waste stream or be post-use C&D or C&I waste.

Exclusions

WRAP business support services are not available to companies whose principal activities are:

  • waste-to-energy or the manufacturing of fuels
  • the recycling of materials other than those listed above (such as metals)
